Foliage Applications

Peptide + Nucleotide for Plants Availability Of Nitrogen In Fertilizers - Liquid Fertilizer can be combined with most types of foliar feeds, fungicides and pesticides. Marine based materials are an excellent choice for combining with other materials for foliar feeding and pesticide application as the nutrients in the fish assist the uptake of the other fertilizers when applied to the plants foliage. However, due to the wide choice of such tank mixtures, and the variability associated with the water used, it is impossible to pre test all potential combinations. Therefore it is recommended to apply the proposed mixture on a small area prior to full scale application to determine compatibility under all circumstances. 

Liquid Fertilizer, when applied at normal application rates, causes no problems with phytotoxicity or other soil or plant problems. Fish foliar should be discontinued within 2 weeks of harvest, as there is the slight possibility of cosmetic staining of the fruit from applications on ripening crops. Application rates for foliar use of  Liquid Fertilizer should be determined by plant growth stage, health and fertility of crop and the need for additional crop stimulation. To fine tune a foliar feeding program we highly recommend the use of plant tissue analysis in combination with the use of refract meters, nitrate  meters and crop observation.

Foliar feeding works best when utilized on a regular basis. Plants will rapidly consume a foliar application of  Liquid Fertilizer. Vineyards respond to 2 - 4 foliar applications of fish, and other foliar applied nutrients. Common timing for foliar is 2 applications, spaced 10 - 14 days apart within a month prior to bloom and again within one month of bloom. Typical foliar application rates for vineyards range from 1 to 5 gallons per acre, diluted in the appropriate amount of water for thorough coverage (commonly 30 - 100 gallons per acre). For smaller applications use 1 to 5 Tablespoons (½ to 3 ounces) per gallon of water applied. The higher application rates are used on larger plants, crops in rapid vegetative growth or for crops in fertility stress

Differentiating between Man Made In-organic fertilizers and Bluewave natural organic based materials.

Man made inorganic nitrogen fertilizer is water soluble and so when applied to the soil the nitrogen is immediately available for plant growth. (Applying too much can easily burn the leaf tissue and root tissue.)  However, the dissolved products will follow the water run off from the area into ground water or streams and lakes.

Bluewave Products FPC TM remains within the soil in a solid organic state until the amino acids are completely broken down into their elements and used and absorbed by plant roots.  Thus, less run off and more effective use of the product.

Even though man made inorganic chemical based fertilizers are cheaper per kg, they are short lived in the soil and only a portion of the total applied is usable by plants.

General Usage Information:

Soil conditioning takes place throughout the year – so you can apply the first application any time that you have a chance to the soil. The deeper you get the applications, the better your results and you will fertilize and condition more of the soil. The fish will enable your inputs to stay in the soil longer and could allow you to cut your application costs. 

For fruit / vegetable crops and sweet corn


On field crops, put 2 gallon per acre 3 or 4 times a year. If you are limited in the number of times you can apply, put 4-6 gallons at any point early in the season – preferably when the soil is tilled or broken.
